"Mini Milestones"

Shelby, it seems like just in the past few days, you are so much bigger. All of a sudden, none of your clothes fit. You came in at 16 pounds 14 ounces and 27 inches long at your last checkup (71/2 months-ok it was supposed to be a 6 month check-up, but ya know). You can do so much now. You can go from a sitting to a crawl position, and you try so hard to move, but you just can't quite do it. You get so mad, and you've found a new, much higher pitch cry, almost a scream. You use it and work it to your full advantage, trust me! You're pulling up and scooting all around. We introduced you to the sippy cup, and you really enjoyed gnawing on the spout while getting a little sweet dilute apple juice. And sleeping.... oh that's a whole-nuther story. You WILL not sleep in your bed. You will fall asleep in your swing, but as soon as we move you to the crib, you freak out. We've resorted to co-sleeping. I said I would never do it, that a baby needs to learn to sleep. You're just a little bit of a drama queen, and neither Daddy nor I have the heart to let you scream in panic, while you wonder why all of a sudden noone is helping you. Truthfully, I am quite enjoying sharing a bed with you, watching you sleep, smelling your sweetness, nursing you through the night, then waking to your smiling face.
