"Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler"

Today is Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras. At your preschool, it is time for the annual St. Jude Trike-a-thon. You and all your classmates have a little parade with decorated bikes, trikes, and wagons to collect money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. You and Mommy decorated your bike yesterday, and boy is it fancy! It's covered in Mardi Gras beads, doubloons, even a little teddy bear. Not to mention a lot of hot glue! It turned out very cute, and you were very proud of it. Come to find out, it was a contest, and there were some pretty elaborately decorated bikes and trikes! We didn't win, but we'll get 'em next year. When it was parade time, you and all your friends rode through the neighborhood behind your school. It was very cute, and you all had a really good time and helped out sick little boys and girls.

Shelby went too. Poppie pushed her in the parade!

"Snow Day!"

Yesterday, the forecast of snow came true. It snowed all through the day, so we got to enjoy watching it dance down from the clouds. You were very excited about the possibility of getting to go out and play in it. Even I get excited at the possibility of a snow day. It was slowly building up on the grass and bushes, but through the night while we were all fast asleep, it continued to snow, and when we got up, it blanketed everything. You wanted to go outside as soon as you got up, but we were able to hold you back until we saw at least one other person outside in the cold. So we layered you and bundled you (you have a cold already) up and went to it. Now everyone was out; Bella and Grace next door, and Dalton on the other side, along with lots of other kids in the neighborhood. We made snow angels, caught snowflakes on the tips of our tongues, and had a snowball fight. Dalton got you good right in the face with a huge ball of snow! You said you didn't like that part though. I didn't let you stay outside for long because of the cold, but really, Mommy was freezing!

"Creepy Crawler"

You did it Shelby! You are a crawler! I was helping Landon in the bathroom and you were mad. I could hear your little protests get closer and closer, and I stepped out of the bathroom, and there you were rounding the corner out of Landon's room. And now, what independence you have...well sort of. You are still pretty much a mama's girl. We are working on training you to sleep in your own room. Right now you are still sleeping with me, but on a mattress in your room. Next we will try your bed with Mommy on the mattress. Baby steps. You've learned a few new tricks too. You are so good at making raspberries with your lips, and you give us quite a shower. You can also click your tongue (DeeDee taught you that one). You are a big bathing beauty now. We use the bathtub seat, and you love your bath even more now, if that is possible. You love to watch the cats, and even try to say "cat." It sounds more like "at at at," but I am certain that's what you're saying. You're so funny when you eat. We can't get it to you fast enough, but when you are through, you're through! Not another bite will cross your lips. And the way we know is you purse your lips and breathe really hard. It's too cute. We all love you so much Miss Lady!

Not too sure at first...Bath fun for two?! Okay!

You sometimes get confused with the nuk and put it in upside down.

Crawling on over!
